BTA staffed a booth during the Symposium to answer attendee questions and socialize the BTA mission. In addition, BTA personnel from the EP&I architecture development team conducted hourly presentations to provide overviews of how the BEA is used to transform the management and implementation of DoD business systems. Sessions included live demonstrations of BEA 7.0 content and focused on data integration through development of common vocabularies, Enterprise Standards, E2E Business Flows, implementation of Federation concepts and alignment to the DoD SMP.

The SOA Symposium is a premier annual conference services offering a forum for practitioners, analysts, and industry representatives to present and discuss experiences and trends. Conference sessions are directed at business and technical architects, analysts, decision makers and IT practitioners.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has embarked on a path to implement SOA as a primary means to deliver increased capability to the warfighter by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations.
"Industry around the world has demonstrated that SOA can substantially reduce the cost of IT infrastructure while greatly improving business agility. The road to SOA must be traveled with a proven inclusive architecture that is jointly owned and managed by both the IT and the business communities in any organization.
To be successful, SOA must be considered to be a team sport that involves all elements of people, process, technology and especially trust."
—Dennis Wisnosky, CTO, BMA, US Department of Defense

Information technology executives also discussed IT requirements and emerging trends within department agencies. Breaks were provided to attract small businesses to network with each other and with successful contractors such as CPS, who know how to service USDA programs most effectively. CPS has been a favored USDA service provider with a consistently positive record of past performance, including Business Transformation, Decision Support, Policy and Procedure development and Security Training. CPS regularly teams with SDVOSB partners on contracts of all sizes.
